Guy Reed and Keith Boardall, long-time colleagues in the food industry, acquired a major stake in Allerton Cold Storage Ltd, based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

1988
Allerton Cold Storage Ltd acquired Wilson Transport Ltd, based in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.

1991
Guy Reed and Keith Boardall acquired the remaining shares in Allerton Cold Storage and renamed the business Reed Boardall.

1992
The business relocated to Boroughbridge and the Northallerton site was sold.
